Jesus Christ proclaimed good news to the poor, release to the captives, and freedom to the oppressed (Luke 4:18-19). Today, thousands of people in Texas struggle with the challenge of medical debt that they have no ability to repay. These are our neighbors and this debt is an oppressive burden that affects every aspect of their lives.
As disciples of Jesus, we are called to seek His Kingdom and to share the gospel, through our words and our actions. Through this campaign, we have the opportunity to partner with RIP Medical Debt and to see the Kingdom of God come in the lives of people just like us by helping to set them free from the bondage of their medical debt.

The Problem In the past forty years, medical costs have doubled, insurance copays and deductibles have spiked, and bankruptcy rates have quadrupled. Over 60% of bankruptcies in America have medical debt as a root cause. Like many Americans, many hard-working Texans save for financial independence.
