“After several years of having old medical debt I got a letter that it had been paid! I was working as an independent contractor and was thrown from a truck. I still have scars from that altercation. It is very difficult to secure health insurance today that doesn’t cost half your income. Even so, copays are unaffordable. The only exception is for those with very low income who qualify for Medicaid. I really appreciate and am touched by the donations which funded the debt forgiveness. I am concerned about the future where employed people with insurance are going deep in debt or bankrupt obtaining basic medical care. Even those with “good” insurance. What is the solution?”
