Our Collaboration with Community
We strive to improve community health and economic well-being by collectively addressing system-wide issues that contribute to medical debt.
To expand our impact we are exploring a wide range of community partners to help elevate the issue of medical debt, and identify potential solutions.
Making this vision a reality requires patients and community members, community leaders and partners, hospitals and healthcare providers and policymakers to come together to mitigate the harms of medical debt.

Community Partner Snapshot
In 2022, we launched a community engagement initiative with national nonprofit Communities Joined in Action (CJA).
Our partnership focused on engaging community health organizations to connect with local healthcare providers and elevate the issue of medical debt.
This pilot unites medical debt abolishment with efforts to address the harms of medical debt, working towards long-term policy change.
Communities Joined in Action (CJA)
A nonprofit whose mission is to improve health access and eliminate disparities in the communities of its members. Undue’s mission and impact align with CJA’s commitment to zero disparities and 100% access to care.
DuPage Health Coalition
Created twenty years ago as a community response to rapidly changing population demographics, resulting in the significant growth of uninsured county residents needing care.

At the time of its formation, there were no public safety-net hospitals or federally qualified health centers in the county. The mission of the DuPage Health Coalition is to develop and sustain a system for effectively and efficiently managing the health of low-income populations across the continuum of care in DuPage County.
Access Health
A Michigan-based nonprofit created in 1999 through a partnership with local residents, healthcare providers, businesses and safety-net organizations to improve population health and increase access to healthcare for the working uninsured and underinsured.

Since inception, Access Health has prioritized medical cost barriers and Social Determinants of Health factors to address the needs of low- and moderate-income families unable to afford/access commercial medical insurance.
